The Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin addresses his future this offseason, Ravens and Chiefs may be suitors. According to a report, the veteran finally breaks his silence with a strong message ahead of this year’s training camp and his plans regarding his future. Hamlin has one of the most inspirational stories in the league but it doesn’t mean he’s safe for a roster spot this upcoming season. He opens up about his plans as he’s heading into his contract season with the team.
“You know my mindset and process is just to get back on the field,” Hamlin said. “Get the ball back rolling like I had in 2022. Get back to making plays, and having fun with my teammates. You know, just enjoying the game. That’s my mindset. Once I handle that, contract talks will handle itself.”
He seems optimistic about his future in the NFL after nearly dying on television but that hasn’t been stopping him. However, many sources are indicating that Hamlin is fighting for a roster spot after the Bills have been using him sparingly. He did mention that he would still like to end his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers but he later changed his mind by saying he wants to remain a Bill for life. It seems like wherever Hamlin ends up, he’ll be happy as long as it’s with those teams.
However, reports say the Ravens are still in the market for safety depth after losing Geno Stone this offseason. They’re solid with Kyle Hamilton and Marcus Williams but they don’t have anyone reliable behind them. The Chiefs may be looking for help as well since they’re finding their next secondary playmaker since the loss of L’Jarius Sneed. Hamlin is nothing like Sneed but there’s potential to this game.

Other Possible Next Teams
New Orleans Saints
The Saints are in the market for safety help as well since they brought a couple of talents like Jamal Adams for a visit. However, Tyrann Mathieu is one of the best secondary playmakers on the team but he doesn’t help from his opposite side. Jordan Howden doesn’t provide enough experience nor does Hamlin but it’s better to get these two in the rotation. The team doesn’t have Marcus Maye anymore so they could use a cost-effective replacement like Hamlin
They don’t have a promising offense this upcoming year so they should just bolster their defense to give them an actual chance.
Los Angeles Chargers
The safety position isn’t the biggest need for the team but it’s never too early to think about adding depth. Derwin James and Alohi Gilman are one of the most accomplished duos in the secondary but they could use some help. They don’t have anyone behind them other than Tony Jefferson returning but he probably won’t be ready to be in the rotation. It’s safe to bring in Hamlin to accommodate Jefferson to create their flame so they’re ready to step in whenever.
Houston Texans
The team is looking like the real deal on offense since adding Stefon Diggs for an already talented quarterback, C.J. Stroud. However, the Texans didn’t do much to address the safety position but they do have Derek Stingley. They don’t have anyone ready to change the game but Hamlin joining the Texans would probably recapture a new form.
