Tank Dell showcased his talent as a rookie in the NFL last year in Houston and hasn’t turned back. With the Texans wide receiver getting a little more crowded, there’s concerns about how he will perform in 2024. What should be expected of Dell this fall in fantasy?
2024 Fantasy Football Profile: Tank Dell
2023 in Review
Dell played in just 11 games as a rookie with the injury bug costing him five games from a fantasy perspective (six total). In the 11 games he played in, he averaged 10+ yards per catch in all but two of them. He posted just over 700 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023 and those numbers would’ve been a lot higher without the injury.
His best games were scattered throughout the season and posted 100+ receiving yards on three occasions. Dell was held to less than 50 yards four times as a rookie showcasing his ability to have big games. His connection with C.J. Stroud was noticeable very early in the season, and the Texans know he’s a playmaker that can stretch the field at any time.
2024 Projection
Immediately after the Texans traded for Stefon Diggs, questions quickly started popping up about what was going to happen to Dell this season. Naturally, every pass catcher in the Houston offense is going to see their per game numbers decline. That’s not to say Dell still can’t have the occasional big game, but the likelihood each week is less.
If I’m an opposing DC, Tank Dell scares me the most…I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Tank is my WR1 in this offense pic.twitter.com/vVHFnJIO38

However, the Texans signing Diggs can benefit Dell as opposing defenses will have more work to do in trying to stop the Houston offense. That’s where Dell can make the most of his opportunity if he stays healthy. The biggest make-or-break with Dell is his health. Draft Sharks shows he has a low chance of getting hurt this fall, but his lone NFL season shows otherwise.
If he can stay healthy, a 1,000-yard season with 10+ touchdowns is on the table. Otherwise, expect much of the same for Dell that we saw last year.
Tank Dell Fantasy Football ADP
Dell’s ADP currently sits at 65, but ranges anywhere from 32-91. His spot at 65 seems to be just in the right spot as that would slot him in the flex. It’s where Dell fits in best in fantasy football as he likely won’t put up WR2 numbers with the three wide receiver system in Houston.
Getting Dell in the flex in the sixth round is good spot to grab him. He has WR2 upside if everything goes as planned for the Texans offense. Interestingly enough, some of his best games came when Nico Collins was in the lineup showing he thrives with competition. That can help justify drafting him at any point.
His ADP is roughly one round after George Pickens who is also best suited to be a flex. Dell going in the third round is a big stretch even in dynasty leagues, but picking him at 91 is very unrealistic. Whether or not his selection is worth the ADP depends on his health.
