Houston star Marcus Sasser says he’s 100% and will play in tomorrow night’s second-round matchup against Auburn.
While his playing time was severely limited (14 minutes) in last night’s closer-than expected win over Northern Kentucky, it appears the American Conference Player of the Year will be full-go on Saturday.
Sasser suffered a groin injury during Houston’s conference championship less than a week ago. He did not participate in practice on Wednesday, but was able to take the court in a limited capacity for Thursday’s game.
Sasser was in obvious pain during last night’s game, and the Houston program confirmed that he had re-aggravated the issue. During his 14 minutes of play, he scored just five points and collected two rebounds.
Houston guard Jamal Shaed (knee) has also been dealing with an injury. But like Sasser, he plans to be 100% for tomorrow night’s game against Auburn.
