The No. 1 seed Alabama Crimson Tide are the odds favorite to win this year’s NCAA Tournament heading into the Sweet 16.
College basketball analyst Rece Davis, an Alabama alum, believes there are two teams that could give the Crimson Tide trouble on the way to a potential title this year: Houston and UConn.
“The only two teams that if Alabama can play to their potential that could also play to their potential and beat them, in my judgment, would be UConn and Houston,” Davis said during a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. “Those two teams could probably do it. Houston’s an elite defensive team, probably the best defensive team in the country. UConn is similar to Alabama in this respect in that they have a lot of different guys they can turn to and they’ve got multiple bigs.”

Aside from Alabama, Houston is the only remaining No. 1 seed after losses for Purdue and Kansas. With this year’s Final Four taking place in Houston, the Cougars could be a really tough matchup late in the tournament.
UConn is red hot heading into the Sweet 16, breezing past their first two rounds of this year’s tournament. If they keep this hot streak alive, there’s not a team in the country the Huskies can’t beat.
The Crimson Tide will face off against the No. 5 seed San Diego State Aztecs tomorrow evening.
