Aggie football’s makeover continues
With spring football complete and the spring transfer portal window open, we’re fully in the time of year when roster changes are to be expected. Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko is likely still looking to add talent to his 2024 squad, while also being mindful of getting down to the 85 scholarship limit by this fall.
Given that, there have been some recent updates to Texas A&M’s online roster, the results of which should be telling.
Notable roster absences:
- C Bryce Foster: While Foster did not participate in spring practice because due to also being a track athlete, murmurs have certainly circulated that his football future (at least as a starter) was in doubt. His absence from the roster combined with the addition of Utah C Koli Faaiu seems to corroborate that.
- OG Dorian Hinton: Hinton had just transferred to A&M in January, but his absence from the Maroon & White spring football game combined with his removal from the roster seems to indicate he is likely looking elsewhere. He would be the of Texas A&M’s winter transfers to already be moving on, joining LB Alex Howard and OL Derrick Graham.
- DB Bobby Taylor: Taylor was a four-star recruit in the 2022 class, but never seemed to make his way toward the top of the depth chart. According to Jaxson Callaway, Taylor will be stepping away from the football team while finishing his degree at Texas A&M.
BREAKING: Sophomore defensive back Bobby Taylor will be stepping away from football, he tells me.
Was a four-star recruit from Katy high school and was part of the Aggies’ 2022 recruiting class. He will remain at Texas A&M to graduate.
