Bucky McMillan has himself a third player!
Bucky McMillan had a busy Saturday, increasing the size of his current Texas A&M basketball roster by 50%! He did so by securing a commitment from North Alabama transfer Jacari Lane.
Welcome to Aggieland, Jacari Lane
➡️ Two-time first-team ASUN Selection as a sophomore and junior
➡️ No. 2 scorer in the ASUN in 2024-25
➡️ 17.3 ppg, 42.3% from the field, and 40.6% from 3#GigEm pic.twitter.com/Wg9DkGSOhK— Texas A&M Basketball (@aggiembk) April 13, 2025
The 6” Hunstville, Alabama native started for the past two seasons at North Alabama, averaging 16 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. He also has a better three-point percentage than everyone on A&M’s 2025-25 squad not named C.J. Wilcher and a better free throw percentage than everyone not named Wilcher or Wade Taylor.
Lane joins Chris McDermott (the lone returnee from the 24-25 roster) and incoming freshman Jeremiah Green as the only three players currently on next season’s roster. The transfer portal window is open through Tuesday, April 22, so McMillan and his coaching staff will obviously continue to be active in bringing in players to visit as they attempt to cobble together a team for the upcoming season after being hired only a week ago.
