With the national championship game complete, we have officially entered the 2025 college football offseason. That, of course, means that it is time to focus on other sports our families our jobs our health NEXT FOOTBALL SEASON! FanDuel has released odds for who will win the 2025 national championship, and despite an 8-5 record in 2024, Texas A&M, fittingly, has the 12th-best odds to win it all next season, sitting at +3100.
Of course, doing so would be no small feat. Texas A&M faces three of the top 10 teams in the odds (Texas, Notre Dame and LSU) and three more teams ranked 11-20 (South Carolina, Florida, Auburn). Many of the teams on A&M’s schedule are expected to be better than they were this season, and the best teams of the bunch they’ll have to face on the road instead of at home. It is far from an easy slate for a team that is in dire need of a successful season.
But the Aggies are expected to improve as well. They return starting QB in Marcel Reed, their top three RBs and their entire offensive line, so it’s reasonable to expect an offensive uptick. Add in the improvement that should accompany any team in the second year of a new head coaching staff, and there are reasons for optimism if you want to find them. Then again, it’s not the first time, A&M fans have been given reasons to hope during the offseason. With fans who have been burned so many times before, it’s up to Mike Elko and his program to start delivering on that hope.
