Boots Radford replacement?
Texas A&M continued their transfer portal crusade on Tuesday, adding SMU guard Zhuric Phelps to their 2024-25 squad.

Phelps started for the past two seasons for the Mustangs, averaging just over 16 points per game. Based on that stat alone, Phelps certainly seems like a prime candidate to become a scoring option to replace outgoing senior Tyrece Radford, to complement Wade Taylor and Manny Obaseki. While Phelps does not shoot the three-pointer very well (a known weak spot for the Aggies last season), his scoring, length (he’s 6’5”) and defense (he averaged more steals than anyone on the Aggies 2023-24 team) should make him a useful addition to the roster.
The Ags have now made three transfer portal additions, with Phelps joining Nebraska guard C.J. Wilcher and Minnesota center Pharrel Payne.
