Texas A&M stays in winner’s bracket, will play again Wednesday
No. 3 Texas A&M is officially in the College World Series semifinals, as the Aggies defeated the No. 2 Kentucky Wildcats 5-1 in Omaha and will get a much-needed day off on Tuesday.

The Aggies got a gem of a performance from starting pitcher Ryan Prager, who carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning, giving up no runs on two hits in 6.2 innings. But despite that performance, it was a nervous first five frames for A&M fans, with neither team scoring a run despite a couple opportunities. But the Aggies blew things open in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs to take a comfortable lead and never look back.
The downside is that that sixth inning also saw RF Jace LaViolette hobble home with an apparent hamstring injury, and he was pulled from the game soon after. You hope that the day off can work some magic, but as mentioned on the broadcast, hamstring injuries rarely resolve themselves quickly.
The Wildcats will play again tomorrow night at 6 p.m. in an elimination game against Florida (who eliminated NC State on Monday afternoon). The winner will then have a rematch with the Ags at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Should A&M win on Wednesday, they’d advance to the College World Series final for the first time in program history.
