A game happened tonight.
A tale of two halves.
The first half saw A&M surrender a 21-0 lead to Auburn.
The second half? Aggies rallied like hell to pull off a miraculous comeback.
But it came up short.
Let’s dive into it.
Secondary
Awful performance in the first half. Miraculously better in the second.
The blown coverages are something that can’t happen.
Thorne is not the kind of quarterback equipped to take advantage of tight coverage. Every big throw came courtesy of a blown coverage.
Can’t have that at this level.
Tackling
The issue that reared its head in the South Carolina game reared its head once again.
The Aggies allowed way too much on second effort and it cost them dramatically.
You make the first tackle and this is an entirely different game. The Aggies didn’t and here we are.
Passing Game
A bright spot. More separation than we’ve seen in weeks.
It felt like the passing game was more of a threat than we’ve seen all year.
Jahdae Walker was a threat in the first half (and in the eventual overtime winner).
Noah Thomas taking a touchdown 73 yards to the house was one of the biggest plays we’ve seen all season.
They picked it up when we needed it.
Credit to the lads for fighting. Can’t ask anything more.
The loss hurts.
