It might be a tad muggy
We learned on Monday when and where Texas A&M’s 2024 season-opener would air, and on Tuesday, we found out the same for the Aggies’ SEC opener. As Mike Elko and company travel to Gainesville to take on the Florida Gators to begin conference play, they’ll kick off at 2:30 p.m., with the game airing on ABC.

Florida will also play a 2:30 kickoff two weeks earlier when they host Miami, so it’s fair to say the TV execs are doing the Gators no favors in sparing them from the summer heat.
This stands to be a pivotal game for both teams, for a number of reasons. Texas A&M hasn’t won a true road game since 2021, so they are absolutely looking to get that monkey off of their back and begin SEC play 1-0. Florida, meanwhile, faces perhaps the most brutal schedule in all of college football in 2024, with the Aggies at home being one of their more winnable games. If they fail to win this one, the already warm seat for head coach Billy Napier begins to heat up quickly.
This will be the 5th time that the Aggies and Gators have faced one another since joining the SEC, with the two teams tied 2-2 thus far. The Aggies won the previous game in Gainesville in 2017.
