Aggies go to Omaha for second time in three seasons under Jim Schlossnagle
If you doubted this team tonight, you clearly hadn’t watched them much this season. A day after losing No. 3 hitter Braden Montgomery, Texas A&M tonight saw starting pitcher Shane Sdao leave with an injury in the first inning, and go down 7-2 after three innings. But as they have done all year, this team rallied, and will head to Omaha for the second time in three seasons after a 15-8 win to clinch the Bryan-College Station Super Regional.

The Ducks held an 8-4 lead through six, but saw the game turn in the top of the seventh. The Aggies scored five runs on a single, six walks and a hit by pitch to take a 9-8 lead. Then the game was blown wide open when Kaeden Kent (who hit the single earlier in the inning) knocked a grand slam that instantly becomes one of the most memorable moments in the history of Texas A&M baseball.

The Aggies scored 8 of their 9 runs with two outs, and Kent, of course, was only in the lineup because of yesterday’s injury to Braden Montgomery. Him playing the hero was the perfect ending to the Ags home slate in 2024. Olsen Magic at it’s finest.
Another hitter who helped carry the day for the Aggies was Hayden Schott, who went 4-4 with four RBIs (including a two-run HR), a walk and three runs scored.
Texas A&M will face fellow SEC team Florida in the opening round of the College World Series after the Gators took down 6 seed Clemson in two games. The CWS will begin double-elimination play on Friday, June 14.
