Aggies continue to add depth along the DL
Texas A&M lost a good amount of depth in the transfer portal last month, but they continue to steadily replace that depth via the portal as well. That continued on Thursday night as Iowa State transfer edge Tyler Onyedim committed to the Aggies after a visiting this week.
BREAKING: Iowa State transfer DL Tyler Onyedim has Committed to Texas A&M, he tells @on3sports

Onyedim started 21 games for the Cyclones over the past two seasons, totaling 75 tackles, 9 tackles for loss and two sacks in that span. He was an All-Big-12 honorable mention in 2023. According to 247 Sports, he is ranked as the No. 26 DL and the No. 294 overall recruit in the transfer portal. Onyedim has one year of eligibility remaining.
Texas A&M’s DE position will look much different in 2025. With Nic Scourton and Shemar Stewart entering the NFL Draft, and Enai White, Malik Scylla and Josh Celiscar entering the portal, A&M brings back only a handful of DEs from last year’s roster. Cashius Howell and Rylan Kennedy project to be solid starters, but behind them was only Solomon Williams, Kendall Jackson and incoming freshman Marco Jones.
But recent portal additions of Onyedim, Florida’s TJ Searcy, Georgia’s Sam M’Pemba and Colorado’s Dayon Hayes should fill those holes nicely, giving the Aggies veteran depth and hopefully a player or two that will work their way into the rotation at DE this fall.
The Aggies currently have 11 portal commits, and their transfer class is ranked No. 5 in the country.
