Get to Know Mississippi State:

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are 1-5 overall and 0-3 in SEC play. They’ve lost each of their last four games to double digits to Toledo, Florida, Texas and Georgia.
No. 14 Texas A&M is 5-1 and 3-0 in SEC play coming off of a bye. This is only the Aggies second road game of the 2024 season.

MSU leads the all-time series 9-8, but it is tied 6-6 since the Aggies joined the SEC in 2012.
The Aggies have only won twice in Starkville (2012 and 2020), finishing a combined 20-3 and ranked in the top five nationally in each of those seasons.
Famous Mississippi State alumni include novelist John Grisham, Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott and former Texas Rangers first basemen Rafael Palmiero and Will Clark. Machine Gun Kelly also attended MSU but did not graduate.
MSU has a highly touted broadcast meteorology program, training approximately ¹⁄₃ of all on-air meteorologists. But we have Max Crawford and they don’t.

Look-ahead potential: MSU has been a doormat for most of their opponents this season, and Texas A&M has a potentially season-defining matchup against LSU the following week. It’s a classic trap game in a place the Aggies have historically struggled, let’s see if Coach Elko can keep his team focused on the task at hand.
Offensive assertiveness. Mississippi State is statistically the worst defense in the SEC by a wide margin. It’s a good chance for the A&M offense to impose its will and prove that their success against Mizzou was no fluke.
Sacks on sacks on sacks. Mississippi State ranks 122nd in the country in sacks allowed, one of only 12 teams in the country allowing more than three sacks per game. Going against an A&M defense that has totaled nine sacks in their past two games seems less than ideal.
