Doesn’t get much bigger than this
Get to Know LSU:
- Location: Baton Rouge, LA
- Established: 1860
- Enrollment: 37,354
- Mascot: Tigers
- Colors: Purple and “gold”
- Conference: SEC
What You Need to Know:
- No. 14 Texas A&M and No. 8 LSU are both undefeated in SEC play, and both riding six-game win streaks since losing their season-opener.
- The winner of this game will be the lone remaining SEC undefeated, and be in sole possession of first place in the conference.
- The Aggies are rumored to be wearing black uniforms for this game. We’ve seen the jersey, but have yet to see the rest of the uniform.
Betting Lines:
- The Aggies are a 3-point favorite
- The point total over/under is 56
Historical Notes:
- LSU leads the all-time series 36-23, but the series is tied 3-3 since 2018.
- The Tigers have not won at Kyle Field since 2016.
- Famous LSU alumni include Shaq, O’Dell Beckham Jr., Astros 3B (for now) Alex Bregman, ESPN’s Booger McFarland, rock band Better Than Ezra and “Old School” star James Carville.
What To Watch For:
- Stakes stakes stakes. Never has an A&M/LSU game had this much on the line. In fact, you could argue it’s the most consequential game the Ags have played since joining the SEC. With the winner getting an inside track to Atlanta, there’s no chance of either team looking ahead in this one.
- Strength vs. strength. One of the big matchups in this game will be LSU’s vaunted offensive line against the Aggies’ physical defensive line. Whichever unit gets the best of the other will have a good chance at pulling out the victory.
- The 12th Man. A crowd can’t win a game by themselves, but they can certainly help. With a capacity crowd for a night game against a top 10 opponent, expect the 12th Man to be in full throat on Saturday. They’ll do their best to fluster the LSU offense.
