Aggies add another Maroon Goon
Texas A&M hosted a slew of recruits at their win over Mizzou on Saturday, and one of them has already pulled the trigger on committing to the Aggies after his visit. On Monday, three-star Midlothian IOL Nelson McGuire committed to the good guys.

According to the 247 Sports composite, McGuire is the No. 533 recruit nationally, the No. 35 IOL and the No. 76 player in Texas. But if he recent offer list is any indication, those rankings may rise soon. Just since Aug. 1, the 6’4”, 320-pounder has received scholarship offers from A&M, Florida, Ole Miss, Auburn, Clemson, Vanderbilt, TCU and USC. In an age where top prospects are often identified and recruited years in advance, that big of an offer surge in a player’s senior year is rare, and likely indicates a player who slipped through the cracks of the recruiting services up a bit.
McGuire originally committed to Minnesota in June, but decommitted just two weeks later.
The addition of McGuire gives A&M 22 total commits in their 2025 recruiting class, which is currently ranked as the No. 9 class in the country.
