Aggies add veteran defender with one year of eligibility
After losing several defensive linemen to the NFL Draft or the transfer portal earlier this month, Texas A&M took the first step in back-filling that depth, as former Pitt and Colorado edge Dayon Hayes committed to the Aggies.

Hayes played just three full games this past season due to injury, but during his last full season at Pitt in 2023, he totaled 45 tackles, including 11 tackles for loss and four sacks. Those tackles for loss and sack numbers are better than anyone on A&M’s 2024 team outside of Nic Scourton.
Originally a member of the 2020 recruiting class, Hayes comes to A&M with just one year of eligibility remaining. He is A&M’s seventh transfer commit this month, good for the No. 7 transfer class nationally.
