The good news just keeps on coming
Day after day, Texas A&M baseball keeps on getting good news. Earlier this week we had already seen half a dozen of the Aggies’ best players remove their names from the transfer portal, and the Ags got another important piece back in the fold on Friday with pitcher Kaiden Wilson.

Wilson made only 10 appearances in 2024, but managed to strikeout 15 batters in just 12 innings, and would be in line to be one of the Aggies’ top bullpen arms in 2025. Kendall Rogers of D1 Baseball even compares Wilson to Chris Cortez, which is high praise after Cortez’ dominant stuff exhibited this past season.
I’m a big Kaiden Wilson fan. Lefty up to 94-95 and the breaking ball was really good last season. Feels like he could be a Chris Cortez type of guy for @AggieBaseball. I’m expecting them to land at least 2 more arms out of the portal as well. https://t.co/zH5eLt3UnI

Less that two weeks ago, there was fear among the A&M fanbase that you’d see a mass exodus of A&M’s impact players, either following the coaching staff to Austin or finding greener pastures due to an uncertain future in College Station. But this week alone, we’ve seen DH Hayden Schott, 3B Gavin Grahovac, INF Kaeden Kent, OF Jace Laviolette, OF Caden Sorrell and P Justin Lamkin all reaffirm their commitment to A&M. Adding Wilson to that list underscores the job head coach Michael Earley has done in retaining this roster following one of the more tumultuous weeks in the program’s history.
And it appears the Aggies aren’t done adding to this roster, with more portal additions rumored to be on the horizon.
