Sooners provide palate cleanser following crushing collapse
If there was ever a week that all Aggies wanted a Tuesday game instead of Wednesday, it was this one. Following a blown 22-point lead in Austin on Saturday, A&M got back in the win column on Tuesday night, taking down the Oklahoma Sooners 75-68 at Reed Arena.
Final: No. 13 Texas A&M 75, Oklahoma 68.

Like most Aggie basketball games, it wasn’t always pretty, but the Aggies maintained a lead throughout the entire second half, thanks in no small part to their massive rebounding edge, beating the Sooners 47-19 on the boards (including a 21-2 offensive rebounding advantage). The Aggies were also refreshingly successful from the free throw line, hitting 29 of 35 shots (83%). That helped make up for a woeful three-point shooting night for the Aggies, going 4-for-24 from beyond the arc.
Zhuric Phelps led the Aggies in scoring with 15 points, with three other A&M players in double figures (Coleman: 14, Payne: 10, Obaseki: 10, Taylor 12).
Up next on the schedule for A&M is a game at South Carolina this Saturday in Columbia. The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. and airs on SEC Network.
