Because of course we will
As expected Texas A&M baseball will be at the friendly confines of Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park for next week’s NCAA Regional and, if they advance, a Super Regional. The Aggies were named the No. 3 national seed, which means they won’t have to leave home again this season unless it’s to head to Omaha.
The Bryan-College Station Regional will also include Louisiana as a 2 seed, Texas as the 3 seed and Grambling as the 4 seed.

On paper, this is a tough draw for the Aggies (at least tougher than most expected. Sun Belt regular season champ Louisiana (40-18) is a worthy 2 seed, but most experts also believe Texas (35-22) had earned a 2 seed as well. Seeing the Ragin’ Cajuns and Longhorns both end up in College Station appears to be yet another example of the NCAA shoehorning matchups both for intrigue and for geographic convenience (see: NCAA Softball Tournament). Grambling (26-26) is the autobid from the SWAC.
It should be noted that Louisiana and Grambling are a combined 0-5 this season against power conference opponents.
While the Aggies have hit a bit of a lull over the past month, losing 7 of their last 11 SEC games, what they did over the course of the year was still more than enough to keep them in the top eight nationally. They enter the postseason at 44-13 with one of the most dangerous offenses in college baseball, led at the top of the top of the lineup by a power trio of Gavin Grahovac, Jace Laviolette and Braden Montgomery.
The Ags will begin regional play on Friday against Grambling. Exact time and TV info yet to be determined.
