After several seasons of their weak non-conference schedule coming back to bite them, Texas A&M took major strides to beef it up in 2023-24 with teams Ohio State, FAU, Memphis, Iowa State and Houston added to the slate. It appears they’ll play some similarly difficult opponents again in 2024-25, as it was announced on Tuesday that the Ags will take on the Purdue Boilermakers on Dec. 14 in the Indy Classic at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Purdue is fresh off a national championship game loss to UConn, and even with losing some players to the NBA, should be a formidable non-conference test. The Aggies and Boilermakers have not faced one another since the second round of the 2010 NCAA Tournament, a game that Purdue won 63-61 in overtime.
While Texas A&M stands to lose seniors Tyrece Radford and Henry Coleman, they do bring back many of their key pieces from their 2024 squad that won the first NCAA Tournament game of the Buzz Williams era. That includes leading scorer Wade Taylor IV, as well as key players like Andersson Garcia, Manny Obaseki, Solomon Washington and Jace Carter.
