It’s not surprising, but now it’s official.
We’re just one day away from Texas A&M baseball beginning their most anticipated season in program history, and now, we officially know the three pitchers taking the mound this weekend against Elon. Friday will be Ryan Prager, Saturday Justin Lamkin, and Sunday Myles Patton.

The only real news here is confirmation of who the Sunday starter will be. Prager, D1 Baseball’s Preseason SEC Pitcher of the Year, was always going to be your Friday starter. Justin Lamkin, who started 16 games for the Aggies in 2024, was the assumed Saturday starter unless something major changed. So the only real unknown here was who the Sunday starter might be, and that nod has apparently gone to Long Beach State transfer Myles Patton. In 11 starts for the Dirtbags (yes, that’s their actual team name) last season, Patton, posted a 3.26 ERA with 85 strikeouts compared to just 24 base on balls. He was an honorable mention All-Big West player and was named by D1 Baseball as the No. 4 “Impact Transfer Pitcher” this offseason.
The Aggies take the field for Opening Day on Friday night at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park against Elon.
