The Players
There are three ACC quarterbacks invited to the workouts. Louisville’s Tyler Shough, Miami’s Cam Ward, and Kyle McCord of Syracuse have all been invited. Ward and McCord were near or at the top of most passing categories in the national rankings throughout the year. Ward was both the ACC Player of the Year and the conference Offensive Player of the Year.
Miami is also sending the benefactors of Ward’s passing prowess. Receivers Sam Brown Jr., Jacolby George, and Xavier Restrepo all made the guest list. Restrepo leaves Miami being one of the most prolific receivers in Hurricanes history. Miami also got tight end Elijah Arroyo on the list.
Running back is also a position of strength for the conference at the Combine. UNC’s Omarion Hampton finished third in the country in rushing yards. SMU’s Brashard Smith was a top 15 rusher in the country in 2024. Phil Mafah is one of the most acclaimed rushers in Clemson history. LeQuint Allen of Syracuse and Bhayshul Tuten of Virginia Tech also own several records with their respective schools.
In all, the ACC is sending 10 defensive backs (Cal has three of them), 14 defensive linemen, four linebackers, six offensive linemen, three quarterbacks, six running backs, six tight ends, eight wide receivers, and three special teams players to Indianapolis.
The defensive linemen and linebackers do their on-field drills on Thursday the 27th. Defensive backs and tight ends are on Friday. Quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs are on Saturday. Offensive linemen wrap up the event on Sunday.
