
Construction set to begin this fiscal year
The first step in Texas A&M’s major baseball facilities overhaul became official on Thursday, as a new $28.3 million player development center was approved by the Texas A&M System Board of Regents at their monthly meeting. Construction is set to begin before the end of FY25 (which runs through August).
The scope of the project included renovation of several player amenities including the locker room, hitting and pitching facilities, weight room, team meeting spaces, bullpens and coaches’ offices. It will be constructed at the site of the baseball team’s current indoor batting cages, and also expand into the adjacent parking lot.

The total cost of the project is $80 million, but the player development portion was carved out in order to begin the construction in FY25 while the rest of the project will begin in FY26. The rest of the project is slated to include premium seating renovations, including the current club, concourses, restrooms, additional reserved seating and additional food service areas.
Putting the focus on the player development center reportedly came at the urging of new baseball coach Michael Earley.

Texas A&M baseball begins their 2025 season next Friday, Feb. 14, against Elon, and is currently ranked No. 1 in the country in every major ranking.
