1965 – Restrictions on Astrodome construction put in place
Fearing the April 2nd completion date, Harris County Commissioners voted to restrict visitors from the construction site. This was done with hopes to bring down traffic of onlookers and overseers wanting to get a look at the newly built stadium.
1967 – Astros trade for Landis
The Astros and then-Cleveland Indians agreed to a deal that sent one major and one minor league player to Cleveland for three players, one of them being Jim Landis. During his 50 game stretch with the Astros, he served as a serviceable bat, hitting .252 with a .705 OPS.
2007 – Loretta becomes an Astro for the second time
For the second time in his career, Mark Loretta signed a one-year contract with the Astros. He ended up staying there two years (2007-2008) where, between his 232 games, he hit over .280 with 38 doubles.
