2007 – Biggio tells off the MLB
After wearing the yellow pin of his hat to promote the Sunshine Kids charity for almost 20 years, the MLB tells Astros second baseman Craig Biggio that he is no longer allowed during Spring Training. While the front office had nothing to say, Biggio himself reacted furiously. Just a week later, the MLB redacted the order in the midst of an upload from local and national media.
2014 – Astros make of regrettable move
After a bad start to his career in his first three years and a slow Spring, the Astros released a 26-year-old J.D. Martinez. Although a journeyman, through the 2024 season, Martinez has over 330 career homers and had a .283 career average.
