1994 – The downfall of the Oilers
At the request of Astros owner Drayton McLane, a poll is conducted throughout the city that sees 56% of people disapprove of a primary football field to be built in downtown, with only 24% approving of it. After Mayor Bob Lanier stepped away from the argument, not supporting a new stadium being built, the Oilers eventually made the move to Nashville and led to the Astros getting their own downtown stadium.
2018 – Altuve gets an extension
The Astros and longtime franchise player Jose Altuve agree to a five-year deal worth just over $150 million and keeping him with the club till the 2024 season.
