1951 – Vern Ruhle born in Michigan
Reliever/starter Vern Ruhle was born in Midland, Michigan. A seven year vet with the Astros, Ruhle tossed over 700 innings with the team, being part of the Astros team that won their division for the first time in franchise history. Following his playing career, Ruhle became a pitching coach, coaching for four different teams, including the Astros.
