2001 – Deshaies receives a vote
Former left-hander and broadcaster Jim Deshaies received a vote on the Hall of Fame ballot courtesy of sportswriter John Lopez. As an Astro, Deshaies threw seven years, going 61-59 with a 3.67 ERA as part of his 12 year career. He later went on to be a broadcaster for the team from 1997-2012.
2020 – Beltran gets his punishment
After signing to be their manager in November 2019, Carlos Beltran is handed his punishment for his involvement in the Astros cheating scandal during the 2017 season, getting let go by the Mets. He becomes the third former Astro to get fired from their position because of their involvement with A.J. Hinch and Alex Cora both getting fired just a few days earlier.

1997
For the first time, MLB executives approve something groundbreaking: inter-league play for the upcoming season. This is something that would later become something that is regular between teams.
2003
The MLB executives, with the intention of making the All-Star game more competitive, agree to give the winner of the game home field average for the World Series. This is a rule that did not last long, with the winning team getting a reward of some sort of money.
2014
During a quarterly meeting, owners establish a set rule on replay moving forward, with the approval of the Player’s Association. The rule that a manager will only get two replays per game, with the umpiring crew getting to decide what gets replayed from the 7th on.
