1977 – Adam Everett is born
In the small town of Austell, Georgia, Adam Everett was born. In his 11-year career in the bigs, he spent seven of those seasons as the Astros shortstop. In those seven-years, he accumulated 531 hits, 35 homers, and 214 RBI over 649 games. He left Houston with a .248 batting average over his time there.
1996 – Canadian football idea shut down
After the relocation of the Houston Oilers to Tennessee, Astros owner Drayton McLane had the idea of bringing a CFL team to Houston to fill the Astrodome. The idea was shut down after the Baltimore Stallions announced their relocation to Montreal instead.
