1975 – Astros introduce rainbow unis
Shaking the world of baseball fashion at the time and laying the groundwork for other clubs to do different colored jerseys, the Astros introduced their famous rainbow uniforms in a 6-2 season opening win over the Atlanta Braves.
1979 – Ken Forsch no-hitter
In a game against the Atlanta Braves, Astros pitcher Ken Forsch fires a no-hitter en-route to a 6-0 win. Stuck in bed for days before the game, Forsch only needed just over 100 pitches to get the win, striking out three and walking two.
2000 – Enron opens
Playing their first game in the new Enron Field, the Astros suffered a 4-1 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. Randy Wolf will forever hold the title of the first winning pitcher in the stadium’s history.
2004 – Roger Clemens Astros debut
At 44-years-old, Red Sox and Yankees legend Roger Clemens makes his debut with the Astros a memorable one when he threw seven shut-out innings against the San Francisco Giants. He struck out nine en route to his 311th win, including K’ing Barry Bonds twice.
