After a late start to the season due to a player strike, the Houston Astros welcomed the fans back with a 10-2 win over the San Diego Padres. Jeff Bagwell, Derek Bell and Phil Plantier all homer in front of the 41,000 fans.
2011 – A warm welcome back
After his 11 seasons with the Astros and becoming a fan favorite, Lance Berkman makes his return to Houston on the St. Louis Cardinals for the first time. Welcome back with good grace and plenty of applause, Berkman was able to smack an RBI-double in the ninth, only to see the Astros come back and take the game 6-5.
