Hayden Wesneski makes his first start as an Astro
Glad you’re here.
Yes, there are still fans here willing to watch an Astros game this season. You are the patient ones, still glued to the TV as Astros hitter after Astros hitter hit weak grounders and pop ups. The team is currently 27th in team batting average and 29th in OPS with only three extra base hits. In four games they have eight runs total. But on the bright side, at least they have gotten pretty good at plate discipline — their 33 strikeouts are 13th in the league.
I guess some of you are easily pleased seeing the boys running out grounders to second.
Kidding aside, this is a terrible day to break out of a team slump. Tonight the Astros face Giants ace, Logan Webb. The Astros counter with #5 starter Hayden Wesneski. Matchups favor the Astros dropping to a record of 2-3 for the year. But the game is played on the field, not in print, and Webb wasn’t his best on Opening Day, allowing three runs in five innings.
Here are the lineups and media access information.
