Framber Valdez begins Spring with two scoreless innings
The Astros beat the Nationals today, 3-0. Framber Valdez started the first two innings, allowing only a walk while facing the minimum number of batters.
The main scoring came from catcher Yainer Diaz, who hit a two-run homer in the first inning to left-center. Last season saw a decrease in Diaz’s power numbers as his contact was increasingly to the opposite field. Perhaps Diaz is trying to get back to the power game that was more typical of his rookie season in 2023.
