After a 4-1 win against the Orioles to take a 2-0 lead series lead, the Astros have one more game to go to complete the sweep against the 49-win Orioles.
The Astros jumped out early in Saturday’s game, tagging starter Corbin Burnes for five hits and four runs, the most he’s given up all season, and they stayed in front on the back of Ronel Blanco. He threw seven innings of four hit ball, only allowing a run in the second.
The ‘Stros are set to face Albert Suarez, who has spent the season bouncing around from the pen to the rotation all season, but is making his sixth start in a row. In those five previous starts, he has gone a minimum of three full innings, with his best start coming against the Braves where he threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball.
Framber Valdez is on the mound for Houston. After a tough start against the Giants on June 12th that saw him only go four innings, surrendering eight hits and five runs, he bounced back a week later against the White Sox going six innings giving up two hit and two runs. He hopes to stay on a good path in his start today with a solid lineup behind him.
